Description

Costalunga Farm and Winery was established by Marco Costalunga in 1957, and was later enlarged and improved upon by his sons throughout the years. Today it is run by the third generation of the Costalunga family, as the fourth generation matures. The farm and its vineyards are located at the foot of the Berici Hills, on their eastern side, between Notulo Hill and Rose Hill. The place is a natural amphitheatre, characterized by dry and gentle slopes of calcareous land, ideal for the cultivation of wine producing grapes, as well as olive trees. Our high-quality grapes and wines, with their flavor, fragrance and taste, owe their excellence to the geographical and mineralogical peculiarities of the hills, as well as to their microclimate and proper sun exposure.

The geographical position of our property, and its hill system, allow spectacular hiking and walking tours through natural paths with breathtaking landscapes, while the vineyards offer educational opportunities for a variety of ages and subjects.

The grapes from our vineyards are processed into our unique wines, right here in our very own Costalunga Family cellars. The passion and skills that have continued for three generations, mixed with today's most modern technology, come together to preserve and magnify what nature generously offers on our hills. The excellent "Palladio Wines", and the Berici Hills DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) Wines are produced here, as well as new and creative products, representing the singularity of our vines and territory.

Costalunga is located in Villa Maffei Costalunga, a portion of an architectonic building complex with a courtyard that contains a tower dating back to the XV century. This ancient tower is the oldest element of the original structure. Additional buildings were then added to the tower starting in the XVI and XVII centuries, eventually creating the current building layout and design.

The original Villa entrance shows a porch characterized by ashlar pillars and a central arch supported by two Corinthian columns. Underground the courtyard area, ancient hydraulic engineering installations that were used to convey resurgent waters, still exist, well preserved and in perfect working condition.

Throughout the centuries, the Villa passed from the Maffei family (a now- extinct patrician family from Vicenza) to the Revese family from Vicenza, to the De Benedetti family from Padua, to the Oreffice family from Vicenza and since 1957 it has belonged to the Costalunga family.

Our staff is multi-lingual, speaking English, French and German.
Guided tours, educational tours, wine- and themed-tastings are available with a reservation.
For home-deliveries and further info, please contact us, preferably via email.
